Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Mixed (medium coat). Vada (A139573) is a 7-month-old Pitbull x Malinois mix who weighed 51 pounds on intake! 02/23/26 This pretty girl is Vada! Vada was surrendered back to the shelter because they felt that they could not provide her with the life she needed. She is going through a fearful stage and, at times, is scared of her own shadow. We encourage her next owner to discuss with their vet and possibly a certified trainer to see what the best ways are to help build Vadaâs confidence in the world. The toddler in the home was stated to be Vadaâs best friend and she was described as doing well around children. It was noted that she is fearful of strangers but does well with them once appropriate introductions are made. Vada does not have experience with other animals, so it is important that slow, safe, and controlled introductions are made to help set her up for success. Vada was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and knows her basic commands. Her surrendering owner did note that Vada is a super chewer and will defluff toys. She was also known to eat rocks, so her next owner will need to keep a close eye on her. Providing Vada with plenty of mental and physical stimulation is very important as she matures. Vada is still very much a puppy and is looking for a patient owner who can continue to work with her. If you are interested in meeting Vada â Bavada, please let us know! 09/24/25 These pups are part of a larger litter that was surrendered at a young age and have been spending time in a wonderful foster home! Now that they are old enough to venture into their new homes, they are looking for you to schedule an appointment to meet them! These kiddos will need continued help with kennel training, potty training, basic commands, and continued positive socialization. They have had a wonderful start in foster and are eager to continue learning. They are teething and love to chew on everything, so providing them with appropriate outlets and chew toys is important. If you are interested in setting up an appointment, please let us know!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
