Dog Breed: Doberman Pinscher (short coat). AVAILABLE SOON: Meet Bree! Everyone say hello to our beautiful, all-natural (ears/tail) girl, Bree, ready for her second chance at life! Bree is just over a year old and on the smaller side, but don’t let her size fool you… her sweetness is huge. She can be a little timid when you first meet her but give this girl a little patience and love and she absolutely warms up. Once she trusts you, you’ll see the gentle, tender heart she has. Info on Bree: GOOD with other dogs she’s met Cats are unknown at this time Natural ears and full tail beauty Bree was rescued and was heartworm positive. But, she has already begun treatment with us and is doing great! She’s healing, resting, and getting stronger every day. She should be ready to hop into her forever home right around Easter time. Talk about the sweetest Easter surprise! This girl has been through a lot and now she’s just waiting for a family who will show her that the best chapters are still ahead. If you’re looking for a soft-hearted, dog-friendly, petite sweetheart to add to your family… Bree might just be your girl! Stay tuned for updates as she continues her journey to health and happiness! All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. All of the above Dobes are pure breed Dobermans unless otherwise noted. We hope you can find a place in your heart and your home for one of our rescue Dobes. Please Note: In most cases we require a fenced yard. We do not place our rescue dogs in homes with very young children (under the age of 8 years). We set these limitations, not because of aggression issues with our dogs, but because Dobermans are generally large, active dogs and can easily knock down, run over or easily trip a small child, causing a serious fall. Also, we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. Our adoption area encompasses Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. The Doberman Pinscher is a sleek and powerful breed originating from Germany in the late 19th century, specifically developed by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann for protection. Known for their striking, athletic build, Dobermans typically possess a short, glossy coat that comes in black, red, blue, or fawn, often with rust-colored markings. Their temperament is a fascinating blend of loyalty, intelligence, and alertness, making them exceptional guardians and devoted companions. While highly trainable and eager to please, they require early socialization and consistent training to channel their energy and protectiveness appropriately. Dobermans can thrive in active families who can provide ample exercise and mental stimulation, but their need for space and activity generally makes them less suitable for small apartment living unless exceptionally well-exercised. Regarding health, they are predisposed to certain conditions like Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), Von Willebrand's Disease, and Wobbler Syndrome, so responsible breeding and veterinary care are paramount.
