Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. A LOVELY & SUPER SWEET GIRL: Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 38 lbs. Hello – I’m Fawne! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control after I came to them from a bad situation. Animal control helped start me on the road to good health and happiness as I was severely underweight, and Mostly Mutts has continued that loving care ever since. I’ve been soaking up all the kindness from the wonderful volunteers here, and now I’m so excited because I hear I’m ready to be adopted and begin a beautiful new life with a family of my very own! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers describe me as the sweetest girl - they just love me! I’m super sweet, gentle, playful, and I truly love people. I’m a lovely, happy pup who’s both smart and obedient, and I was very brave during my bath, sitting calmly the whole time. I’m just such a cute, sweet girl who’s ready to share all the love I have to give with my new family. / Energy Level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, and ‘place’ commands and I look forward to learning more. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve been having some accidents on the shelter schedule, so I’ll need my new family to keep me on a good schedule so I can master my potty manners. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love being with people, playing with toys, and soaking up attention. Sitting in laps for cuddles and scratches - especially good hind quarter scratches - is one of my very favorite things! / I can’t think of any dislikes now that I’m being well cared for, but like all dogs I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m a wonderful dog looking for a family for life that will treasure me! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
