Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Meet Ms. Rosie Posie (all black female) and Mr. Leo (multicolored male) , the sweetest and most playful pups around. We are 3 month old Heeler mixes. It’s likely we will be medium sized dogs, around 25 to 35 pounds full grown. We are bursting with love for everyone we have met. We do well with other dogs and our foster has two young children. We have loved spending time with them and their friends. We have been learning lots of new things lately, and have a fantastic start to training. We have been working a lot on crate training and potty training. We are doing especially well in our crates and sleep well at night - we even take naps there during the day! We have also started to practice walking on a leash - it’s a really exciting time for us. We are looking for a family who will keep up this momentum, and put time and effort into putting our smarts and energy to good use. Ms. Rosie Posie: I believe I will be more petite than my brother. I am very playful and once I get my energy out I am content to chew a toy. My preferred location is on your lap. In new places I am very brave and I’m usually leading the way to investigate something new. Mr. Leo: If you are looking for a tug of war buddy then I am your pup! I love to play and I love to be with my people. I’m very observant and I want to learn. I am doing really well with potty training and crate training. I am a smart pup. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
