Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Miniature Pinscher / Mixed (short coat). #A5759125 Mimi is a 3-year-old female, 16lbs Chihuahua, possibly mixed with Miniature Pinscher, who was owner surrendered along with Siesta (A5759124) when their previous home had too many dogs. These two girls arrived together and share a close bond, so it would be wonderful if they could stay together — though with patient adopters, they may also do well separately. Mimi is still adjusting to the shelter environment. She’ll bark a quick hello when meeting new people but settles down once she realizes she’s safe. Curious and alert, she likes to observe everything around her and seems content relaxing on her kennel mat beside Siesta. Like many small dogs, she has a big personality packed into a tiny body. With more socialization and a calm adult-only home, Mimi has all the potential to grow into a confident and loving companion. -3 years old, female, Chihuahua mix (possibly Miniature Pinscher) -Owner surrender (came in with Siesta A5759124) -Bonded pair; would love to stay together but can be separated -Adult-only home recommended -Barks to greet people but settles quickly -Curious and observant -Happy relaxing on her kennel mat -Typical small dog with a big personality -Needs continued socialization and patience -Ready for a calm, loving home MIMI’S VIDEO: youtube/shorts/oR3OMnHhqMA For more information, contact volunteer Lor at lorunitedhopeforanimals ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. Breed overview
Overview:
The Chipin, a lively cross between the Chihuahua and Miniature Pinscher, originated in the United States as a designer breed. These small yet sturdy dogs typically weigh between 5-10 pounds, boasting a short, smooth coat that comes in various colors like black, tan, chocolate, and fawn. Physically, they often inherit the Chihuahua’s apple-shaped head or the Miniature Pinscher’s sleek build, with expressive eyes and alert ears. Temperamentally, Chipins are known for being affectionate, energetic, and surprisingly courageous, often displaying a "big dog" personality in a small package. They can be excellent companions for individuals or families with older children, and their compact size makes them highly suitable for apartment living, provided they receive adequate exercise. While generally healthy, potential health concerns include patellar luxation, dental issues, and heart conditions, inherited from their parent breeds. Early socialization and consistent training are crucial for a well-adjusted Chipin.
