Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Introducing Cilla - Some dogs ask for attention…She just quietly becomes part of you Atlanta, GA (foster) Since settling into her foster home, Priscilla (“Cilla”) has made one thing very clear: Wherever you go… she goes. Kitchen? She’s there. Couch? Already waiting. Another room? Don’t worry; your shadow just followed you in. She’s the kind of dog who turns “needy” into something special, not demanding, just deeply connected. The kind that wants to be near you, always. And now that she’s decompressed, we’re really seeing who she is: Soft, affectionate, and incredibly people-focused Food motivated and eager to learn Already showing nice engagement and responsiveness Thriving in a structured home environment Cilla is also a high-energy, active Malinois who will need consistent mental and physical stimulation. She’s the kind of dog who will excel with training, engagement, and having a “job”, not one who will be happy with a casual walk around the block. She does show typical mouthy/playful Malinois behavior when excited, which is already improving with guidance and clear boundaries. She’s currently living with both male and female dogs and doing well with slow, thoughtful introductions. She can be a bit crazy with her play but is taking corrections beautifully. She’s learning, adjusting, and really starting to thrive. But her favorite thing? You. Just… you. After everything she’s been through, Cilla isn’t asking for much — just someone to stay close to. Someone she can follow from room to room, lay next to at the end of the day, and finally feel safe with. If you want a dog who will be your shadow, your project, and your partner — this is her. All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and six month subscription. *********************************************************************** If you are interested in adopting this pet, please complete an application at this link: petstablished/adoption_form/24689/generic. *********************************************************************** MAD is an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
