Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Boxer / Mixed (short coat). Sitka Mary Ann (A141562) is a 4-year-old lab x boxer mix who weighed over 70 lbs at intake! 03/21/26 This sweet goober is Sitka Mary Ann! Unfortunately, this sweet girl was left at the shelter without much information about her past. She has been extremely outgoing with people at the shelter, and seems to love any attention at all! She was even trying to give kisses while care staff were performing her intake exam! We do not know for certain if Sitka Mary Ann is housebroken or kennel trained, but she has been keeping her kennel clean here while at the shelter. We also do not know Sitka's history with other animals, including other dogs. Please make sure to do slow and controlled introductions, if you have other pets in the home. If you are interested in meeting Miss Sitka Mary Ann, please give us a call!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Boxador, a popular designer dog, is a lively crossbreed resulting from the union of a Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. Originating in North America, this hybrid was developed to combine the best traits of its parent breeds, creating a loyal and energetic companion. Physically, Boxadors are medium to large-sized dogs with a muscular build, typically weighing between 50-80 pounds. Their coat is short and dense, varying in color from brindle and fawn to black and chocolate, often displaying the distinctive Boxer mask or the gentle Lab expression. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, intelligent, and highly social, making them excellent family pets that thrive on interaction. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they require regular exercise and are best suited for homes with yards rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and heart conditions like aortic stenosis.
