Dog Breed: Great Dane (short coat). Adoption Fee: 300. ATTENTION: All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs. If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application. We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Roscoe! Roscoe is a 1½-year-old, 70-pound Great Dane mix with a big heart to match his size. He may be a little shy for the first few minutes when meeting new people, but once he warms up, he quickly becomes your loyal best friend. Roscoe is a young, playful guy who would love a canine buddy to run and play with. Like many big, enthusiastic pups, he’s still working on his manners and would benefit from continued guidance and training as he grows into his best self. Roscoe’s story started with heartbreak—he was abandoned when his family moved away and left him in the backyard. He ended up on the euthanasia list before finding safety with us, and now he’s ready for a fresh start with a family who will love him forever. Roscoe has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on all vaccines. He also appears to be house trained. With his sweet nature and playful spirit, Roscoe is ready to bring a lot of love (and a little Dane-sized goofiness) into his forever home. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! The Great Dane is an impressive and regal breed, often dubbed the "Apollo of Dogs" for its dignified stature and noble appearance. Originating in Germany, where it was historically bred for hunting boar, this giant breed is renowned for its immense size and striking presence. Physically, Great Danes are characterized by their tall, muscular build, short coat (available in various colors like fawn, brindle, black, blue, and harlequin), and expressive eyes. Despite their formidable size, they possess a surprisingly gentle and affectionate temperament, making them wonderful family companions. They are known for being patient with children and generally get along well with other pets. While their size might suggest otherwise, Great Danes can adapt to apartment living if provided with sufficient daily exercise, as they are not overly energetic indoors.
