Description
Dog Breed: Golden Retriever / Great Pyrenees / Mixed (medium coat). Lena is a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix with the cutest floppy ears and a heart as big as her paws (and trust us, those paws are making promises). She’s well on her way to becoming a loyal, fluffy guardian who will follow you from room to room… and then dramatically flop down right on your feet. She’s currently: Working on crate training (with strong opinions, but improving daily. But she does sleep all night in it!). Learning potty training (celebrating the wins!) Loves going on walks and is picking up basic commands like the smart girl she is. She's living with a large resident dog and two elementary aged humans and is well-socialized with both. Lena lives for fresh air, sniffing absolutely everything, and keeping a very close eye on her people at all times (personal space is optional in her world). If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, loyal pup who will grow into a big, beautiful companion and never let you go to the bathroom alone again… Lena might just be your girl. Lena would love a family who is home often and that has a fence so she can roam, rather than needing to be on a leash when she wants to be outside all the time. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $650.00

Breed overview
Overview:
The Golden Pyrenees, a delightful cross between the Golden Retriever and the Great Pyrenees, offers the best of both worlds. Originating from intentional breeding to combine desirable traits, this hybrid typically sports a lush, medium-to-long coat in shades of gold, cream, or white, coupled with a sturdy, athletic build. Physically, they are large dogs, inheriting the Great Pyrenees' substantial size and the Golden Retriever's friendly expression. Their temperament is a harmonious blend of the Golden's eagerness to please and the Pyrenees' gentle, watchful nature, making them incredibly loyal, affectionate, and generally good with children and other pets. While highly adaptable, their size and need for moderate exercise mean they are best suited for families with ample space, rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain heart conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
