Description
Dog Breed: Anatolian Shepherd / Boxer. Meet Harper! Harper is the teeniest member of the H litter, and she is so, so, SO sweet it’s nearly impossible not to ooooh and ahhh the entire time you’re with her. She may be tiny, but this little girl has a big personality packed into her teeny body. Here’s what we learned on Harper’s field trip today: • Walks beautifully on a leash — especially for being “just a baby” • Stays close to her people and doesn’t wander far • Explored the park and field with curious, happy energy • Loved her pup cup — every tiny lick was pure joy • On a mission — she kept moving and exploring the whole time • Has sweet snuggle potential — we’ve seen her sleepy puppy mode at the rescue • Gives the best little kisses • Obsessed with the corn-on-the-cob stuffy we brought along • Huge personality in the tiniest package Harper is the perfect mix of adventurous and affectionate. She loves to explore, stay close to her people, and soak up every bit of attention she can get. And when she’s ready to recharge? That sweet sleepy snuggle mode is waiting. If you’re looking for a tiny, loving, playful puppy who will stick close and fill your days with sweetness, Harper might just be your girl. APPLY AT PROJECTHOPEARF.ORG born 2/9/26

Overview:
The Anatolian Shepherd, an ancient and noble breed, hails from the rugged plains of Anatolia (modern-day Turkey), where they served as formidable guardians of livestock for thousands of years. These impressive dogs are renowned for their substantial size, typically weighing between 80-150 pounds and standing 27-29 inches tall, boasting a dense double coat that can range in color but is often fawn with a black mask. Their independent and intelligent nature makes them exceptional working dogs, displaying a strong protective instinct balanced with a calm demeanor. While fiercely loyal to their families, their guardian roots mean they are not ideal for apartment living; they thrive in homes with ample space and a job to do, making them unsuitable for inexperienced owners. With proper socialization and training, they can be wonderful companions, though their watchful nature means they often bond more closely with one or two family members. Generally a robust breed, potential health concerns include hip and elbow dysplasia, and bloat.
