Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever. Meet Brooklyn! This girl is a 2 year old stunning purebred Labrador Retriever with a soft plush coat. She is a fun, active girl who is looking for a family who will be active with her. She loves going on walks but will pull at times and she is strong. We suggest families who are experienced Labrador owners committed to working and training with her. She loves attention and likes to be with her family. She would do best with a family where someone is home more often than not. She is crate trained for a few hours at a time but doesn't do well when she is crated all day. Brooklyn also has a Phosphorous deficiency and requires medication daily to help her digest her food more efficiently. This girl has so many wonderful qualities that will give your reason to smile. She is housetrained, crate-trained, rides well in the car and is okay with dogs but does not need another dog in the home. She knows Sit and enjoys playing fetch. If you think you're ready to add to your family by adopting Brookyn, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! Overview:
The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
