Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff. Meet Zoe Zoe is a young, petite Cane Corso girl who is truly a work in progress — but she has so much love to give. Sadly, her previous owners did not do her any favors when it came to confidence and socialization. She has some anxiety and depends heavily on her humans for comfort and direction. Zoe was not properly socialized with other dogs, so at this time we are looking for a home where she can be the only dog. What she really wants is simple: a person or family to call her own, a safe routine, and someone who understands that she needs patience, love, and reassurance. She is crate trained, house trained, and good with kids. After her family went through a divorce, Zoe was left in the middle with no real plan for her future. Her world changed, and she was left needing someone to step up for her. Zoe wants nothing more than to be by your side. She is looking for a calm, committed home where she can finally feel secure, loved, and wanted. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
