Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (long coat). Tender and beautiful Josey is a 9 month old scruffy Terrier mix who weighs 21 lbs. She came from the border of Mexico. She initially was shy and reserved but quickly realized she mattered - now, her spirit comes shining through. She is a calm puppy and lives for belly rubs and treats. Wait- back that up- she lives for pets, belly rubs and treats. "You love me, I love you" is her entire philosophy. Josey LOVES her food time. No one knows where she’s putting it but she is, after all, a growing puppy. Josey does not do well in crate so her foster mom currently lets her roam the home. Josey has a bit of separation anxiety. She also has some allergies. This is common in dogs from Texas. Many times once the dog moves away from Texas, their allergies disappear but there’s no guarantee. Josey would do best in a medium to low key home. Josey LOVES her humans and is very cooperative. She loves playing with her toys! She lives for the big three: pets, belly rubs and treats. Josey is a mannerly puppy. She takes treats gently and eats calmly. Josey is going to be a perfect dog once fully grown. Her foster mom says Josey is a ‘sure thing’. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
