Description
Dog Breed: Golden Retriever / Great Pyrenees / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Lane: part puppy, part potato Lane is a calm, clever little guy with a soft spot for snacks and a talent for stealing hearts. If you’ve got treats, you’ve got his full attention—this boy is very food motivated and already showing off how smart and trainable he is. At night? Total angel. He sleeps quietly in his kennel like a pro. During the day? He’s still figuring out the whole “bathroom goes outside” concept—he can do it, he just needs a human who remembers to remind him (and maybe supervise his indoor adventures). Now let’s talk about his signature move: Leash? Walk? Absolutely not. Lane will instantly transform into a full “bag of potatoes” and refuse to move. It’s a lifestyle choice. We respect it… but we’re working on it. He’s more low-energy than wild child, prefers squeaky toys, and will give you the most hilarious side-eye + sass combo if you tell him to stop barking. It’s honestly impressive. Lane LOVES kids, enjoys other dogs, and is happiest when he’s not alone—he’s definitely a “people puppy” who wants to be part of the action (or at least nearby supervising it). Ideal home: Someone around often, a sense of humor, treats on hand, and an appreciation for a dog who occasionally identifies as a potato. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $650.00

Breed overview
Overview:
The Golden Pyrenees, a delightful cross between the Golden Retriever and the Great Pyrenees, offers the best of both worlds. Originating from intentional breeding to combine desirable traits, this hybrid typically sports a lush, medium-to-long coat in shades of gold, cream, or white, coupled with a sturdy, athletic build. Physically, they are large dogs, inheriting the Great Pyrenees' substantial size and the Golden Retriever's friendly expression. Their temperament is a harmonious blend of the Golden's eagerness to please and the Pyrenees' gentle, watchful nature, making them incredibly loyal, affectionate, and generally good with children and other pets. While highly adaptable, their size and need for moderate exercise mean they are best suited for families with ample space, rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain heart conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
