Description
Dog Breed: Pekingese / Pomeranian / Mixed (long coat). Adoption Fee: 275.00. Pompano is a sweet senior, approx 9 years old, who we believe is a Pekingese/Pomeranian mix. He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys lots of attention from his people. He is potty and crate trained. Since he came to us as a stray, we do not have much information about his past. As we learn more about him, we will update his page. Pompano is a gentle boy looking for a loving home to enjoy his golden years in. New owners will need be up for regular grooming visits to keep his coat clean and maintained.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Pominese is a delightful designer breed resulting from the crossing of a Pekingese and a Pomeranian, originating from a desire to combine the best traits of both small companions. Physically, they typically possess a compact build, often with a soft, medium-length double coat that can come in various colors. Their faces can show characteristics of either parent, sometimes having the flatter features of the Pekingese or the more foxy appearance of the Pomeranian, often with expressive eyes. Temperamentally, Pominese are generally affectionate, playful, and intelligent, making them trainable but occasionally exhibiting a stubborn streak. They thrive on human companionship and are well-suited for apartment living due to their small size, though they do enjoy short walks and indoor play. While generally healthy, potential health considerations include patellar luxation, respiratory issues (especially if inheriting a flatter snout), and dental problems, making regular vet check-ups important. Their adaptable and loving nature makes them excellent family pets, particularly for those seeking a charming, devoted small dog.
