Description
Dog Breed: Pomeranian. About Me: If you’re looking for a tiny shadow with a big heart, I might just be your guy. I’m a 5 lb senior pup who’s mastered the art of companionship—I’ll happily follow you from room to room, curl up at your feet, and keep you company no matter what you’re doing. Quiet, gentle, and incredibly sweet, I’m the kind of dog who just wants to be near my person. I’m not much for toys or wild playtime—I’d much rather soak up your attention or nap beside you. I get along beautifully with other dogs and even cats, though I tend to do my own thing and prefer people over playmates. New situations can make me a little nervous at first, but once I feel safe, my loving personality really shines through. I’m still learning a few things, like perfecting my potty training and getting fully comfortable on a leash, but I’m making great progress every day. I do best with a patient, understanding adopter who will let me move at my own pace and continue building my confidence. I also have a few small medical needs, including a daily supplement, and I’m blind in one eye—but don’t worry, it doesn’t slow me down one bit! My ideal home? Somewhere calm, cozy, and full of love—where I can be your loyal little sidekick and you don’t mind having a constant companion right by your side. If you’re ready for a devoted, snuggly best friend who will love you endlessly… I’m ready to meet you. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at .RescueCrew. Overview:
The Pomeranian is a vivacious and charming toy breed, originating from the historic region of Pomerania, now part of Poland and Germany. Descended from larger Spitz-type dogs, they were miniaturized over generations, becoming beloved companions. Physically, they are recognizable by their luxurious double coat, often seen in striking shades like orange, cream, or black, and their distinctive foxy face with bright, alert eyes. Despite their small stature, Poms possess a bold and inquisitive temperament; they are intelligent, eager to please, and can be surprisingly independent. They adapt well to apartment living due to their size, though they still benefit from regular walks and mental stimulation. While generally good with older, respectful children, their delicate build makes them more suitable for families who understand their needs. Regarding health, Poms can be prone to patellar luxation, tracheal collapse, and dental issues, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care to ensure a long, happy life.
