Description
Dog Breed: Corgi / Mixed (short coat). Hi there, it's me - Zoey Mae. I'm a 1-year-old Cardigan Welsh Corgi, and I just can't wait to find my forever family. A little about me: I'm a sweet girl who loves people and other animals. I get along great with my furry friends here at the in my foster home, and I'm even good with the cats too! However, I do think I'd be best suited to a family with older kids. I know I'm a little nervous around smaller kids, but I promise I'll be a great companion once I get to know you. I'm a happy-go-lucky girl who loves to play, but I also know how to be a good girl when it's time to relax. I'm already house-trained, which means I won't make a mess in my new home. Plus, I'm a quick learner, so if you show me what to do, I'll pick it up in no time. One thing to keep in mind: I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat (ha! get it?) when it comes to men. I know it sounds silly, but I just need a little extra time to get to know you and feel safe. Once I do, I'll be your biggest fan - I just love to cuddle and be close to my people. Some of my favorite things include: Going on walks with my favorite humans Playing with my toys (especially squeaky ones!) Snuggling up in my kennel for a nap Riding in the car in my kennel. Getting treats (who doesn't love treats?!) If you're looking for a loyal companion who will love you with all her heart, I'm your girl! I promise to be a good girl, listen to you, and snuggle up next to you on the couch. I just can't wait to find my forever family and start this new adventure together. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $650.00

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
