Description
Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees / Golden Retriever / Mixed (long coat). Meet Sunny! He is a happy male Great Pyrenees mix around 2 years old and 100lbs. We believe he may be mixed with a Golden Retriever as he has a golden coat and a friendly goofy personality. Sunny is an xl lap dog. He loves to always be touching and lay right on top of you if you let him. He like to lean against you when standing and greet you by going between your legs. He overall does well with new people, sometimes he is cautions while other times he is immediately friendly. He has only been exposed to kids while on walks but has been good with them. He is a playful goofy guy. He loves toys, however he can be a little toy possessive so best to put toys away unless he is on his own. He enjoys playing with other big dogs, sometimes he is clumsy with little dogs. He gets along well with the other dog in his home and shares water bowls well. Sunny matches your energy, if you want to relax he will relax and if you want to play he's game. He is a little clumsy and constantly runs into stuff because he's not paying attention. He loves car rides and does very well during them. He enjoys walks but can get excited and pull on the leash until you tell him to slow down. He gets in the crate on his own but will bark and let you know he's not a fan, he prefers to be in the living room when left alone. He is house trained. This big happy guy will be such a fun addition to a home! Sunny is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He is currently in a foster home in DFW area, Texas. Any out of area adopters are responsible for arranging their own transport. His adoption fee is $250. He is heartworm positive, SPIN Rescue will provide adopters with medication to continue treatment. Apply to meet and adopt Sunny at .spinrescue

Breed overview
Overview:
The Golden Pyrenees, a delightful cross between the Golden Retriever and the Great Pyrenees, offers the best of both worlds. Originating from intentional breeding to combine desirable traits, this hybrid typically sports a lush, medium-to-long coat in shades of gold, cream, or white, coupled with a sturdy, athletic build. Physically, they are large dogs, inheriting the Great Pyrenees' substantial size and the Golden Retriever's friendly expression. Their temperament is a harmonious blend of the Golden's eagerness to please and the Pyrenees' gentle, watchful nature, making them incredibly loyal, affectionate, and generally good with children and other pets. While highly adaptable, their size and need for moderate exercise mean they are best suited for families with ample space, rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain heart conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
