Description
Dog Breed: Queensland Heeler (medium coat). Bandit- Blue Heeler (Queensland Cattle Dog) â 2 Years Old â Looking for a Fresh Start This 2-year-old blue Australian Cattle Dog is ready for the life heâs always deserved. He has spent most of his life as an outdoor-only dog and is now looking for a home where he can truly be part of the family. Despite limited training and exposure, he has a wonderful foundationâhe is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and eager to bond with his person. He comes when called, has never escaped a fenced yard, and tolerates grooming well. He loves attention, enjoys being close to his people, and is known for giving hugs. He tends to bond strongly with men but also does well with women, making him a great companion for the right home. Because of his past, he has not had formal training yet, but like most cattle dogs, he is very smart and capable of learning quickly with consistency and patience. He has had limited exposure to other dogs and may be reactive at first, though with slow and positive introductions this should improve over time. He has never been around children, so a home that can be mindful and careful with introductions or an adult-only environment would be best. He would benefit greatly from structure, continued training, and regular exercise. He does need to lose a little weight, so he would make an excellent hiking or activity partner for someone looking for a loyal buddy to get outside with. This boy is truly a good dog who just hasnât had the chance to live the life he deserves. With someone willing to invest time, patience, and love, he has all the potential to become an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. His ideal home would be with someone experienced withâor willing to learn aboutâworking breeds, who can provide the structure, activity, and companionship he needs to thrive.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Texas Heeler is a dynamic crossbreed, originating from the deliberate pairing of the Australian Cattle Dog and the Australian Shepherd, predominantly in, as its name suggests, Texas. This intelligent and energetic canine typically boasts a medium build, with a strong, athletic frame well-suited for an active lifestyle. Their coat can vary widely in color and pattern, often displaying the striking merle or mottled markings of their parent breeds. Temperamentally, Texas Heelers are known for their loyalty, eagerness to please, and high energy levels, making them excellent companions for active individuals or families who can provide ample exercise and mental stimulation. Due to their herding instincts and need for space, they are generally not suitable for apartment living and thrive in homes with yards. While generally robust, they can inherit health concerns common to their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, and certain eye conditions. Prospective owners should be prepared for a dedicated and engaging canine partner.
