Dog Breed: Pomeranian. The Pomeranian Quartet: Busterr, Clover, Starshine & Sassie. A tiny family with big hearts is ready for their next chapter. Meet our adorable Pomeranian crew. They’ve lived their whole lives together, so they’re social with other small dogs, familiar with routines, and happiest when they’re part of a cozy, loving home. They do well with gentle handling, respectful children, and other small dogs. All four are classic Pomeranians: fluffy, charming, and ready to be adored. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at .polkcountyhumanesociety/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop

The Pomeranian is a vivacious and charming toy breed, originating from the historic region of Pomerania, now part of Poland and Germany. Descended from larger Spitz-type dogs, they were miniaturized over generations, becoming beloved companions. Physically, they are recognizable by their luxurious double coat, often seen in striking shades like orange, cream, or black, and their distinctive foxy face with bright, alert eyes. Despite their small stature, Poms possess a bold and inquisitive temperament; they are intelligent, eager to please, and can be surprisingly independent. They adapt well to apartment living due to their size, though they still benefit from regular walks and mental stimulation. While generally good with older, respectful children, their delicate build makes them more suitable for families who understand their needs. Regarding health, Poms can be prone to patellar luxation, tracheal collapse, and dental issues, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care to ensure a long, happy life.
