Hope is a rambunctious, playful, love bug looking for the perfect home to help her keep learning and growing. Don’t let her small size fool you, she is very brave and will try and protect her home from anything suspicious with a quick and sincere howl! Hope is still learning what it means to be a dog, safe in a loving home, and she is loving every minute of it. She absolutely adores other dogs and loves to play with her dog foster sibling. She would do best in a home with another playful puppy who can match her energy, or a patient older dog who can show her the ropes. Hope could also be your one and only furry friend if she is given the proper attention and security she deserves. At the end of the day, Hope loves to cuddle and snuggle as close as possible to her people. She is the perfect cuddle companion who is also up for boundless adventure. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
