Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed (medium coat). Say hello to Rosita! This adorably scruffy little gal is an approximately three-year-old Terrier mix available for adoption through Chi Town Rescue. Rosita was originally taken in by Huesito's Rescue in Hermosillo, Mexico. Adopters in that area are scarce, but dogs are plentiful, so we have a partnership with this rescue where we help take in some dogs when they are over-crowded. A portion of each dog's adoption fee goes directly to that rescue. Rosita is a fun and sassy little mama. She is outgoing and loves attention and pets. She is full of spunky Terrier energy and enjoys sniffing around the play-yard and chasing after toys. We are sure that any family who adopts Rosita will add a bundle of love and energy to their lives! Rosita's adoption fee is $375 and includes spay surgery, vaccinations up to date including Rabies certificate, and microchip. Email chitownrescuegmail for more information/meet and greet appointment with Rosita!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
