Description
Dog Breed: French Bulldog. Hi, I'm Frankie - the ultimate cuddle bug! I'm a 2-year-old French Bulldog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. My foster family has been amazing, helping me heal and gain weight. Now, I'm on the hunt for a forever home with a family who loves to play, snuggle, and laugh together. I'm looking for a home with another dog to be my best friend - we can play, cuddle, and get into all sorts of mischief together! I'm also happy to meet humans of all ages and sizes, as long as they're ready for a lifetime supply of slobbery kisses. Just a heads up: I do have a bit of puppy energy, so I need a family who can keep up with me. I'm a good girl, I promise! I just need a regular routine and not too much alone time. Oh, and did I mention I get along paw-fectly with cats to? Located in Guelph ( adoptions will not take place until after spay check up June 13) Best Fit: Frankie would thrive in a home with one or more friendly, playful dogs. She loves canine companionship and enjoys being part of a pack. A home where she is left alone for long periods would not be ideal. Home Type: Frankie can adapt well to suburban, rural, farm, or city living. She previously lived in a condo and is not a noisy dog. Family: She is friendly with people of all ages and could do well with children, though supervision is recommended with younger kids as she can still get excited and jump up. Activity Level: Frankie is happiest with a family that enjoys a balance of activity and relaxation. She loves adventures but also appreciates plenty of rest breaks and cuddle time. Other Pets: Frankie would do best with younger, playful dogs. She is thriving in a multi-dog home, respects other dogs' cues, and loves to play. No prey drive has been observed. Exercise Needs: 1–2 short walks (up to 20 minutes each) per day, plus backyard playtime, toys, and mental enrichment. Favourite Things: Wrestling with her dog friends, backyard zoomies, exploring new places, cuddling with her people, and enjoying beef liver treats. Training & Behaviour: Frankie knows sit, down, and come. She is house-trained with a consistent routine and would enjoy an obedience class, though it is not necessary. She does not resource guard, show leash aggression, or have significant separation anxiety. Special Notes: Frankie is currently comfortable being left with other dogs for up to 5 hours. She does enjoy scavenging on walks and in the yard, so continued work on her “leave it” command would be beneficial. She is gentle if something needs to be taken away from her. Diet: Frankie is doing well on Go! Solutions Digestive & Gut Health food. She appears sensitive to chicken and too many treats or food extras, which can upset her stomach.

Overview:
The French Bulldog, affectionately known as a "Frenchie," is a charming and compact companion breed originating from England, later popularized in France during the 19th century. Known for their distinctive "bat ears" and sturdy, muscular build, they possess a short, smooth coat that comes in various colors and patterns. Despite their somewhat serious expression, Frenchies boast an incredibly affectionate and playful temperament, making them excellent companions for individuals and families alike. Their relatively low exercise requirements and adaptability make them particularly well-suited for apartment living. However, prospective owners should be aware of their susceptibility to certain health considerations, including breathing difficulties due to their brachycephalic (short-nosed) structure, as well as spinal issues and skin allergies. With proper care and attention, a French Bulldog can bring years of joy and loving companionship.
