Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (unknown type) (long coat). Meet Ricky Ricky is a 3-year-old poodle mix with a story of survival and a heart ready for healing. This sweet boy was found wandering the streets of Mexico, severely emaciated, and given a second chance when he was flown to Texas to start over. Now Ricky is safe, gaining strength, and looking for the soft landing he deserves. Ricky’s dream home? ✨ A comfy couch to curl up on ✨ A calm, loving family ✨ Older kids only (he’d do best in a quieter home) ✨ A safe place where he can finally rest and just be a dog After everything he’s been through, Ricky is ready for the easy life—full of naps, love, and knowing he’ll never have to fend for himself again. Could you be Ricky’s fresh start? Adoption Application found .pawsofloverescue Applications can be found online at .pawsofloverescue, under the adopt tab. We require an approved application before a meet and greet is set up.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
