Once she feels safe, she truly thrives on physical closeness and loves cuddles and gentle kisses. She has a calm, pleasant presence with typical puppy energy - happy to zoom around the house or yard when comfortable, but equally content to relax nearby. New situations and busy environments can make her a bit nervous, so she currently does best in quieter settings, though with patience and reassurance she has the potential to adapt just about anywhere. Lauralye gets along beautifully with other dogs and is naturally respectful and non-pushy. After a polite sniff or two, she enjoys playing and running in the yard, happily keeping up with her canine friends. Her gentle nature shines around children; she’s met 7 and 9 year-olds and immediately sought them out for cuddles and kisses. Given how submissive and sweet she is, she’d very likely do just fine living with a cat as well. Lauralye is crate trained and can comfortably spend a few hours crated during the day. She’s still working on house training and may have occasional crate accidents, but she’s already showing improvement. She enjoys meals in enrichment toys, chews on her toys appropriately, and settles into routine easily. On leash, she walks happily in quiet areas and can even be handled confidently by a child, though traffic and loud noises can cause her to pause until she’s gently coaxed forward - walking with another dog may help build confidence. A real standout trait is how tolerant and relaxed she is with handling; she calmly sat in a lap for nail trims with a Dremel, without a single squirm.
