Dog Breed: Rottweiler / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Missy (A138484) is a 3-year-old Rottweiler x Lab mix who weighed 108 pounds on intake. 05/21/26 These two girls are Baloo and Missy! Baloo and Missy are a mother-daughter pair who were stated to be besties! We are not requiring that they be adopted together; however, if you are looking for an established pair, they could be the ladies for you. They also lived with a small dog in their previous home and were stated to do well with them, but have no experience around cats. It is important to make appropriate introductions to all potential friends to help set these ladies up for success. Baloo and Missy were described as outgoing, friendly, and affectionate dogs! They were stated to LOVE children and to do well with strangers! However, it was noted that they do like to jump up and give kisses, which is important to know if you have small kiddos in the home. These ladies were known to be door bolters, which is part of the reason they were being surrendered. They should always be on leash, secure tie out, or supervised in a fenced-in yard. They were said to love to run and play. As you can see, they are both very overweight, and it is very important that they shed the pounds to live a healthier and longer life. For Missy, our shelter veterinarian suggested a metabolic or low calorie diet and feeding her for a goal weight of 55 pounds. We encourage her next owner to speak with their vet on the best ways to help them. It was also noted that Baloo does not like having her nails trimmed, so her prior owner would generally take her to the vet or groomer for this task. Baloo and Missy were stated to be both kennel-trained, housebroken, and to know the command `sit.` If you are interested in meeting Missy or possibly the pair, please let us know!
