Here's Your Quick Peek: Nova is a young, energetic miniature poodle who came to rescue after breaking her leg in a jump gone wrong. She’s fully healed now and ready to run, play, and love life again! Nova is goofy, sweet, and curious — a happy little silver poodle who loves to go, go, go. Please note - if you want to skip the text and go straight to the application, you can find the link here: .carolinapoodlerescue/application/ Must have: Pet insurance - Nova came to us with a broken leg most likely from jumping too hard down a flight of stairs. This happens - but we want to make sure if it happens to you, you have your pretty silver streak covered. Exercise: Good exercise daily will help her channel her energy. Minimum of 2 walks per day at least 1 to 2 miles each time, then free play in the yard with you or with a canine bestie. Best with: Active families or individuals who enjoy outdoor adventures and have time for training and play. Not ideal for: Sedentary homes or environments with lots of stairs or high furniture (she’s not allowed to jump anymore). Energy level: High — playful, curious, and always ready for fun. Nova is intelligent, food‑motivated, and easy to train. She’s affectionate and loves being part of the action. She’s great with other dogs and older kids (5+), and she’ll happily join you for walks, games, and cuddles. Good with dogs: Yes — loves all dogs and thrives with a playmate. Good with kids: Yes — 5+ Cats: Not tested. Fun fact: Nova’s shiny silver coat glows in the sun, and she’s known for her joyful, bouncy personality — she’s a little dog with a big heart and endless enthusiasm! Potential Adopters Dogs can’t drive - and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Please check your potential BFF’s location and make sure you’re comfortable traveling to meet them. Overview:
The Miniature Poodle, a charming and intelligent companion, originated in Germany as a water retriever before being refined in France. They are renowned for their elegant appearance, characterized by a distinctive curly coat (often requiring regular grooming to prevent matting), long muzzle, and expressive dark eyes. Standing typically between 10 to 15 inches tall and weighing 10 to 15 pounds, they are a compact yet sturdy breed. Temperamentally, Miniature Poodles are known for their high intelligence, making them highly trainable and eager to please. They are generally lively, affectionate, and can be quite playful, thriving on interaction with their families. Their adaptable nature makes them well-suited for apartment living, provided they receive adequate daily exercise and mental stimulation. They are often excellent with children and other pets when properly socialized. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of breed-specific concerns such as progressive retinal atrophy, luxating patella, and Addison's disease. With their captivating looks and bright minds, the Miniature Poodle makes a delightful and devoted family member.
