Description
Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees / Anatolian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). DOB: 2/7/26 Current Weight(as of 5/28/26): 29 Lbs. Adoption Fee: $275 includes 1 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. Izzie is a 4-month-old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix with a heart as beautiful as her looks. Like many puppies, Izzie had a rough start and came to rescue feeling very shy and fearful of the world around her. Thanks to the patience, love, and encouragement of her foster family, she has made tremendous progress and continues to blossom more every day. Once Izzie feels comfortable, her playful and affectionate personality shines through. She absolutely loves playing with other dogs, romping around the backyard, and spending time with her foster parents. Watching her confidence grow has been a joy, and she is ready to find a family that will continue helping her discover just how wonderful life can be. Izzie has done very well with house training and is almost there, but she will still need consistency and patience as she continues to learn. Because she loves having space to explore and play, a securely fenced yard will be required. As a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix, Izzie is expected to be a large to extra-large dog when fully grown. She will thrive with a family that understands giant-breed dogs and is committed to providing her with the love, guidance, and security she needs. Izzie is more than just a beautiful puppy—she is a sweet soul who has worked hard to overcome her fears and is ready to reward her forever family with a lifetime of loyalty, love, and companionship. Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at .furrykidsrefuge, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch. More About Anatolian Pyrenees BreedOverview:
The Anatolian Pyrenees is a large guardian hybrid created by crossing the Anatolian Shepherd of Turkey with the Great Pyrenees from the Pyrenees mountains. Known for their impressive size, often weighing between 80–140 pounds, they carry a thick double coat that provides protection in colder climates. Their temperament blends loyalty, independence, and gentleness, making them devoted family companions while retaining strong protective instincts. Although affectionate with children and calm indoors, their guarding nature and need for space make them better suited to rural or suburban homes rather than apartment living. With proper socialization, they coexist well with other pets, but consistent training is essential due to their intelligence and stubborn streak. Common health considerations include hip dysplasia, joint strain, and bloat, typical of giant breeds. Overall, the Anatolian Pyrenees is a gentle yet vigilant dog, ideal for families seeking a devoted protector.
