Dog Breed: Black Labrador Retriever / Labrador Retriever (short coat). MEET NOVA #5!!! Nova is a really good girl. She is very sweet and loving and LOVES attention. She likes to be petted a lot and loves to be cuddled up in arms and in her bed!! She loves her people and will give them solicited or unsolicited kisses. She's already crate trained and great in her kennel but is super excited when she gets out. Nova is not a fan of water, so she most likely will not be a swimmer. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
