Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Blue is a loving, energetic, and loyal dog who enjoys hiking, playing in the snow, running on the beach, and snuggling on the couch. He is formally trained, treat motivated, and eager to learn. He is neutered, vaccinated, house trained, crate-comfortable, and non-destructive. Blue has a chicken allergy, requires medication, and can be anxious — especially during fireworks. He barks at the mailman and door knocks but redirects well with commands. He warms up to adult visitors best when able to initiate interaction. Blue will thrive in a child-free, pet-free home with an individual or couple seeking a loving companion who enjoys physical and mental stimulation. We are rehoming Blue due to our 10-month-old son. As our son has become more mobile, Blue has grown more anxious, and one incident between them confirmed this difficult decision. We love Blue deeply and are committed to finding him the perfect home. We welcome a Zoom call or meet-and-greet with potential adopters. No adoption fee **** Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2198387&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
