Description
Dog Breed: English Mastiff (short coat). Meet Georgianna Georgianna is a beautiful female English Mastiff just almost 1.5 years old and ready to find her forever home through AZ Mastiff Rescue. She is dog friendly, kid friendly, people friendly, crate trained, house trained, and a very social girl. Georgianna has always lived with other dogs, so she is looking for a home with at least one other dog to help her feel confident and happy. She grew up with a big dog pack and lots of room to play on 2 acres, so she hasn’t had much leash experience yet. She will need a family willing to help her learn leash manners and how to walk in a straight line — but she is sweet, eager, and ready to learn. Georgianna would love kids in her new home, but her biggest need is having a dog friend by her side. She is excited to start her next chapter and is hoping her forever family is out there. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
