Dog Breed: Miniature Pinscher / Chihuahua / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Keno, an 11-year-old Miniature Pinscher who recently came to us after his owner could no longer care for him. Keno is a bit of a grumpy old man in the most honest, endearing sense of the wordâhe knows what he likes, what he doesnât, and heâs not interested in pretending otherwise. Heâs looking for a calm, comfortable place where he can settle in and finally just be at ease. Like many senior dogs, Keno comes with a little extra history. He has some dental concerns that may need attention, and he has struggled with potty training in the past. Heâll do best with a home that understands that older dogs sometimes come with quirks, habits, and a slower adjustment period rather than perfect manners on day one. Keno is not thriving in the shelter environment, and it showsâthis is not where heâs meant to spend his golden years. He needs an understanding person, family, or rescue willing to see past the âcantankerous old manâ exterior and offer him a soft landing. A quiet home, patience, and consistency will go a long way for him. He doesnât need perfectionâhe needs someone willing to give him comfort, dignity, and a chance to finally relax. Keno is currently at El Dorado County Animal Services and is urgently hoping for a saving grace to step forward.
