Dog Breed: Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed. Gregg has a quiet, gentle spirit and a heart that’s just waiting to bloom. Since arriving in foster care, Gregg has shown himself to be a shy boy who prefers to take things slow. For his first few days, his crate was his favorite place to be, and while it’s still his safe haven, he’s becoming more comfortable venturing out and spending time with the family. Each day brings a little more confidence as he learns that people can be kind and trustworthy. He’s slowly warming up to being shown affection from his foster family and is beginning to show glimpses of the loving companion we know is hiding beneath his timid exterior. Gregg takes comfort in having a gentle canine friend nearby and would do best in a home with another calm, confident dog to help him feel secure. Gregg is looking for patient adopters who understand that trust takes time. He won’t be the dog who rushes into your arms on day one, but for the family willing to move at his pace and show him consistent love and kindness, we believe he will become an incredibly devoted companion. Due to our participation in the Vernon Hills 4th of July Parade, there will be no adoption event on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Instead, come visit us the following weekend at Libertyville Dog Days of Summer on July 11 & 12! Stop by to have some fun, meet our amazing adoptable pets, and say hello to the Reach Rescue team.
