Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Iris is a brave, fearless and totally sweet girl. She came in with a bulging eye that required the eye to be removed. Even with being a stray and having a surgery, Iris has remained sweet and brave. She loves everyone she meets and always displays a happy, can-do personality that is contagious! She’s working on gaining weight so she’s at a healthier, more ideal weight for her size and breed, but has displayed no food aggression or resource guarding when handling her treats or toys. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term.
