He is a medium energy guy who loves a good wrestling match or game of tug with his canine buddies and then melts right into the couch for some quality snuggle time with his people. He would be a wonderful addition to just about any home. Ray is very friendly with every dog he meets and loves having canine companions close by. He has not been around cats but his calm and gentle nature suggests he would likely do fine with proper introductions. He is absolutely crazy about kids and is incredibly gentle and attentive with them, making him a fantastic fit for a family of any kind. Ray is a well-mannered, eager boy who loves all kinds of toys and is happy to share them with his pals. He runs to his crate when he hears his bowl being prepared and settles in for both meals and overnight without any issues. He is fully house trained and does great on a consistent daily routine. He walks well on leash and enjoys his morning walks when the weather is cool. This gorgeous, sweet boy is a true delight and will have you falling in love from day one. Could Ray be the one for you? A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
