Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (Standard). Available for Adoption: Gabriel Meet Gabriel, a sweet and resilient boy who hasn't had the easiest start in life. Gabriel came to us from a local shelter, where he unfortunately suffered a serious attack by another dog. As a result, he sustained multiple wounds and bruises across his body, many of which required immediate medical treatment. By the time he arrived in our care, his injuries had healed, but he was understandably still sore, bruised, cautious with handling and medical procedures. After some time to recover, including a grooming appointment and continued veterinary care, Gabriel began to relax and show us who he truly is. Beneath his tough experiences is a kind, loving, and gentle soul. He is obedient, affectionate, and responds well to calm, gentle guidance. As his confidence grows, we're even starting to see his playful and silly side shine through. Gabriel is happiest when he has structure, routine, and room to play. He would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can run, play ball, and enjoy the outdoors. While he loves children, we recommend a home with kids ages 8 and older who understand how to respectfully interact with dogs. Gabriel is a quiet, easygoing companion who will alert you when needed but otherwise enjoys a peaceful lifestyle. He is crate trained, potty trained, leash trained, and gets along well with other dogs. His carefree personality and loving nature make him a wonderful addition to the right family. If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion who deserves a fresh start and a forever home, Gabriel may be the perfect match. Gabriel is ready to find the family he's been waiting for. He has had 2 vet visits, is neutered, Microchipped, UTD on all vaccinations, had a 4 DX test (testing for Lyme disease and two types of tick-borne illnesses), flea/tick/heartworm prevention (Nexgard Plus), 2 dewormings, and a 1 fecal test. Adopters will receive all original paperwork, a 14-day health guarantee, a collar, harness, leash, seatbelt lock, and a week's worth of food. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are by appointment only. We are located in Mesa near Gilbert/Brown & offer flexible hours for meet-and-greet appointments. Overview:
The Standard Poodle is a captivating and highly intelligent breed with a rich history, believed to have originated in Germany as a water retriever before being refined in France. Renowned for their distinctive, dense, and curly coat—which is virtually non-shedding, making them a great choice for allergy sufferers—they are elegant and athletic dogs. Physically, they possess a proud carriage, a long muzzle, and dark, expressive eyes, typically weighing between 45-70 pounds. Their temperament is characterized by being highly intelligent, easily trainable, and generally good-natured, though they require mental stimulation to prevent boredom. Standard Poodles are surprisingly adaptable, thriving in active families and even adapting well to apartment living provided they receive adequate exercise and mental engagement. While generally healthy, owners should be aware of potential health concerns like hip dysplasia, bloat, and eye conditions. Their combination of brains, beauty, and biddability makes them a truly versatile and rewarding companion.
