Description
Dog Breed: Golden Retriever / Great Pyrenees / Mixed. Pearl is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees / Golden Retriever mix, around 1–2 years old, and 55 lbs. She and her twin sister, Opal, were found as strays and have blossomed beautifully in their foster home. Pearl has the Golden Retriever friendliness and the Pyr charm that make her an easy dog to love. She picked up potty training quickly and has had no accidents. Pearl shows no food or toy aggression, gets along great with other dogs, and is good with kids. She barks at cats but does not chase. Pearl is the more playful of the two sisters — she loves to initiate zoomies and games with the other dogs. She enjoys her new comforts like air conditioning, fans, couches, and soft beds. Pearl rides well in the car, comes when called, and now goes in and out of the house without hesitation. She is affectionate, eager to please, and learning to trust more every day. Pearl will make a wonderful companion for a family who enjoys a friendly, playful, and loving dog. Adoption Criteria: • Fenced backyard required • An adult who is home more during the day • Children 7 years of age or older Pearl is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $495, and if you would like to adopt both sisters together, the adoption fee for both is $795. Both girls are being fostered in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Breed overview
Overview:
The Golden Pyrenees, a delightful cross between the Golden Retriever and the Great Pyrenees, offers the best of both worlds. Originating from intentional breeding to combine desirable traits, this hybrid typically sports a lush, medium-to-long coat in shades of gold, cream, or white, coupled with a sturdy, athletic build. Physically, they are large dogs, inheriting the Great Pyrenees' substantial size and the Golden Retriever's friendly expression. Their temperament is a harmonious blend of the Golden's eagerness to please and the Pyrenees' gentle, watchful nature, making them incredibly loyal, affectionate, and generally good with children and other pets. While highly adaptable, their size and need for moderate exercise mean they are best suited for families with ample space, rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain heart conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
