Dog Breed: Husky / Mixed (medium coat). Asta (A139383) is a 1-year-1-month-old AK Husky mix puppy who weighed 54.4 pounds on intake! 07/11/26 Asta, previously known as Singe, was brought back to shelter very reluctantly. Asta has a taste for drywall, which was not appreciated by the housing authority on base. Asta was described as being an outgoing, friendly and affectionate pup. In his most recent home, he was said to do well with other dogs, cats, and even small animals! He is still a young pup who has been known to jump on people and counters, chew and be vocal at times. Asta was said to be kennel trained and potty pad trained. He will probably need some patience and help with becoming fully housebroken. Enrolling Asta in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer would be a great place to start with teaching him manners and redirecting his destructive habits to appropriate chew toys. Asta was said to do well with kids and babies. He can get too excited when running with littles however and may try to grab their clothes. Singe arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for his new place to call home! He was named Singe because his finders mentioned that he was very curious and got to the oven, and might have singed a whisker or two! Puppies are basically toddlers, and so it is important to keep a close eye on him to keep him from getting himself hurt or into trouble! Singe will need continued help with potty training, kennel training, basic commands, and positive socialization. Singe is also currently teething so providing him with appropriate chew toys is important. Puppies are a lot of work but a great reward! If you are interested in meeting Singe, please let us know!
