Description
Dog Breed: Anatolian Shepherd (short coat). Don't forget!! We are currently open by appointment only. This is to control the traffic in the building at one time. If you would like to look at the cats/dogs for adoption, or if you need to relinquish or to do any other business, please message our FB page or call us at 304-267-8389 to schedule an appointment. If you see a specific pet for adoption on our FB page we can always set up a specific meet and greet for that as well. This handsome Anatolian Shepherd is Archie. He is between 5 to 6 years old. Archie is neutered and vaccinated. Archie is great with other dogs and with cats. Archie is a fearful boy. Not aggressive at all but shy with new people. His previous owner said he is scared of everyone and everything. We do not know what happened in his past but it must have been very traumatizing for him. He needs a quiet home with owners that can give him the patience and time he needs to become accustomed to his new family and surroundings. Archie is leash trained and walks great on a leash. Adoption fee... $175, cash or credit card, includes spay/neuter, first shots and microchip..If you already have a dog, bring them with you for a 'meet and greet' with Archie! Mon.-Sat. 10-4 We understand not everyone can adopt a pet. Some homes are full, some homes do not allow certain pets and some have lifestyles that can't handle a pet right now. You can still help. Sharing pictures on FB, volunteering, or just coming in and sponsoring part of the adoption fee for when the pet is adopted. This helps a lot. No amount is too small to donate towards the adoption fee. If you would like to help sponsor, speak to one of the staff. Especially the cats and kittens need help (since we usually have so many!) Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank You!

While fiercely loyal to their families, their guardian roots mean they are not ideal for apartment living; they thrive in homes with ample space and a job to do, making them unsuitable for inexperienced owners. Generally a robust breed, potential health concerns include hip and elbow dysplasia, and bloat.
