LADY - MINIATURE PINSCHER / MIXED (MEDIUM COAT) DOG FOR ADOPTION

Dog Breed: Miniature Pinscher / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Lady, the adolescent miniature pinscher mix. Lady came to the Shelter as an owner surrender with her friend Onyx. Lady came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after her previous guardian was unable to continue caring for her. She lived in a home with another dog as well as two children ages 2 and 11 years old. Her friend Onyx (a female german shepherd) is also here for adoption. Lady was reported to be house and crate trained in her previous home. At the Shelter, Lady has been fearful and unsure -especially without the companionship of her canine friend Onyx. To help set Lady up for success – we are requiring that Lady go to a home with another canine who can show Lady the world isn’t so scary. If an adopter is looking for a duo, Lady and Onyx could be adopted together as well. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
