Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (Standard) (medium coat). Meet Harry – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Forever Family Harry is a handsome 62-pound Standard Poodle with a heart as big as his beautiful smile. Born on August 1, 2019, this sweet, neutered boy has spent his entire life with one family. Sadly, as life became busier with three young children, they made the difficult decision to find Harry a home where he can receive the time and attention he deserves. Understandably, Harry is a little bewildered by all the recent changes, but through it all he has remained the gentle, loving, and well-mannered boy he's always been. He is incredibly smart, affectionate, and eager to be someone's loyal best friend again. Harry is: 7-year-old black and white Standard Poodle Neutered Up to date on vaccinations House trained Crate trained Walks nicely on a leash Loves car rides Great with other dogs Friendly with children Well-behaved, playful, and affectionate Harry enjoys spending time with his people, going for walks, riding in the car, and making new canine friends. Whether it's an afternoon adventure or a quiet evening relaxing at home, he's happiest simply being part of the family. What Harry wants most isn't fancy toys or a big backyard—it's a family that will love him for the rest of his life. After losing the only home he's ever known, he deserves a forever family that will cherish him and never let his heart be broken again. If you think Harry could be the missing piece of your family, please complete an adoption application at .legacyhumanesociety. His foster mom will be in touch to tell you more about this wonderful boy and help you meet your new best friend. We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at legacyhumanesociety/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.

Overview:
The Standard Poodle is a captivating and highly intelligent breed with a rich history, believed to have originated in Germany as a water retriever before being refined in France. Renowned for their distinctive, dense, and curly coat—which is virtually non-shedding, making them a great choice for allergy sufferers—they are elegant and athletic dogs. Physically, they possess a proud carriage, a long muzzle, and dark, expressive eyes, typically weighing between 45-70 pounds. Their temperament is characterized by being highly intelligent, easily trainable, and generally good-natured, though they require mental stimulation to prevent boredom. Standard Poodles are surprisingly adaptable, thriving in active families and even adapting well to apartment living provided they receive adequate exercise and mental engagement. While generally healthy, owners should be aware of potential health concerns like hip dysplasia, bloat, and eye conditions. Their combination of brains, beauty, and biddability makes them a truly versatile and rewarding companion.
