Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Meet Jasper! Jasper is an adorable approx 5 ish-month-old pup weighing in at 28 lbs and is ready to find his forever family! He's doing great with house training and has the sweetest, most laid-back personality. Jasper gets along wonderfully with kids , other dogs , and even cats , making him a fantastic addition to just about any home. He loves going for walks and is already a great leash walker. When he's not out exploring, you'll find him soaking up all the snuggles and belly rubs he can get. We think Jasper will grow into a medium to large-sized dog (his breed is a mystery!), but one thing is certain—he's going to be one handsome boy! He was treated for non-contagious mange due to being found as a stray and bad diet, and the fur is growing back beautifully. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate best friend who will happily join you on adventures and then cuddle up on the couch, Jasper is your guy! Could Jasper be the missing piece of your family?

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
