Dog Breed: Anatolian Shepherd / Mixed. This pup will be available to meet starting on 7/25 Yeti sightings are rare... but this one is real, and he's looking for a forever home! At just 7 months old and already tipping the scales at an incredible 90 pounds, Yeti is an Anatolian Shepherd mix who's still growing into those giant paws. If you've ever dreamed of spotting a Yeti, here's your chance... and this one is much more interested in belly rubs than hiding in the mountains! Behind his enormous size is the sweetest, gentlest soul. Yeti is a big ole baby who loves people, adores other dogs, and somehow doesn't realize he's the size of a small bear. He's wonderfully submissive, easygoing, and has the kind of calm personality that makes everyone fall in love. One look at that giant smile and you'll understand why he's such a favorite. Yeti absolutely loves other dogs and is one of those rare pups who gets along with everyone. Whether he's playing with energetic friends, wrestling in the yard, or simply hanging out and soaking up the sunshine, he's happy just being part of the group. He's incredibly tolerant of other dogs and would thrive in a home with canine companions to share life's adventures. Even though he's built like a mountain, Yeti has excellent manners. He walks beautifully on a leash, is well socialized, and has a wonderfully gentle nature. He's playful without being wild, goofy without being over-the-top, and has already mastered the art of being a very good boy. Yeti arrived at the shelter as an unclaimed stray, and honestly... we're still wondering how 90 pounds of adorable managed to go unnoticed. Unlike the legendary Yeti, this one isn't hiding. He's patiently waiting for someone to discover what an incredible best friend he truly is. His dream home would include a fenced yard where he can stretch those long legs, another playful dog (or two!) to romp around with, and of course... the biggest, fluffiest dog bed you can find. (Although don't be surprised if he decides your couch—or your lap—is an even better option.) If you're looking for a dog with a mountain-sized heart, a smile as big as the great outdoors, and enough love to last a lifetime, Yeti is ready to become your loyal companion. They were rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
