Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Meatball had a day out with a volunteer...here is how he did: He hopped in my car no problem and settled in. Gentle when given treats Knows the sit command Did well for his bath and with the dryer Was a good dog when meeting new people No signs of resource guarding Very treat motivated (so easier to train...) Didn't mark in the house Loves attention Meatball was a great guest. He explored my backyard and would check in every so often. He loves attention and treats (even healthy ones). He's a very Velcro, in your pocket kind of pitty and followed me everywhere. I can see him bonding very quickly to his person. When he wants pets and you don't give in, then he will start climbing you but quickly learned down. He didn't potty at all inside and once we went to the backyard he did, so he seems potty trained. Meatball would do best as the only dog in the home. To meet this perfect gentleman, make an appointment through yoloshelter/dogs, or email adoptyoloshelter.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
