Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed. This pup will be available to meet starting on 8/1 Meet Volcom, a 69-pound shepherd mix with the heart of a teddy bear and the soul of a gentle giant. At just 1 year old, this handsome boy is still young enough for adventures, but calm and sweet enough to spend his evenings curled up beside you on the couch. One look into those soulful eyes and you'll quickly realize that Volcom is really just a big ole baby. He is soft, gentle, affectionate, and wonderfully sweet. While he can be a little reserved at first, other dogs help bring him out of his shell, and before long his happy, wiggly personality shines through. Because of this, Volcom would love a home with another friendly dog to show him the ropes and be his built-in best friend. This lovable boy enjoys making new friends, loves being around other dogs, and would thrive in a home with a yard where he can stretch his legs, soak up the sunshine, and spend time with his canine companions. Despite his size, he has a dainty and gentle nature that makes him impossible not to adore. Volcom has so much love to give and is ready to leave shelter life behind for good. He dreams of a family who will give him the fresh start he deserves, a cozy couch to snuggle on, dog friends to play with, and people who will love him as much as he will love them. They were rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
