Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Fe, a sweet 2-year-old female Pit Bull with a gentle and calm demeanor. Fe is a shy and hesitant girl who may take a little time to warm up, but with patience and positive affirmations, she blossoms into a loving companion. She adores treats and affection, making her highly treat-motivated and eager to please once she feels comfortable. Fe is good with women and seems to get along well with other female dogs, showing friendly behavior in social settings. While she is still learning to walk on a leash and could benefit from some training, she responds well when called and enjoys human interaction. This easy-going girl is looking for a patient adopter who can provide a calm and supportive home environment where she can continue to build confidence. If youâre looking for a loyal and gentle friend who will reward your kindness with affection and trust, Fe might just be the perfect match for you! Come meet Fe and help her feel safe, loved, and ready to thrive. City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Tuesday through Friday, noon to 6pm Saturday, noon to 4pm 918-669-6280

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
