She’s a typical mid-energy puppy who loves to wrestle and play chase with her doggy friends! Roxy will thrive in an active home where she can be a hiking or running buddy and also get lots of cuddles and love. Roxy is a true social butterfly! This sweet pup is always excited to meet new people, whether adults or kids, and always wants to be part of the action. Roxy adores other dogs and takes their cues well, inviting play and giving space if needed. She even enjoys playing with cats, and would love canine or feline siblings who could be playmates for her. Roxy loves chewing on toys and romping around with her friends, whether they’re human or animal. Roxy has been doing so well learning her puppy house manners. She stays in her crate during the day and overnight, and either settles immediately or vocalizes for a couple of minutes before settling in. Roxy has also been working hard on her house training and is making great progress, though like any young dog she may need a little extra patience, time, and a consistent schedule as she adapts to new routines. She’s been practicing her leash skills and looks forward to continuing to perfect them on walks with her new family. Roxy is a joyful, fun-loving pup who can’t wait to bring joy to her new home. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
