Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Goose is a 6-year-old German Shepherd with a big heart, a loyal spirit, and just the right amount of goofy charm! After his previous owner made the difficult decision to surrender him, Goose is ready to find a family to call his own.Like a true German Shepherd, Goose is devoted to his people and takes his job of loving and protecting them seriously. When he's off duty, you'll find him splashing in the pool, snoozing in a cozy bed, proudly playing with his favorite buckets, or keeping the neighborhood squirrels on their toes!Goose has done well with older children and would thrive in a home with someone who understands and appreciates the German Shepherd breed. If you're looking for a smart, faithful companion who's equal parts guardian and goofball, Goose might just be your perfect match! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. Your dogâs adoption fee includes: - Current age-appropriate CORE Vaccines (Rabies/DHPP/Bordetella) - Heartworm Tested - Current on NexGard PLUS Monthly Preventative Chew (Flea/Tick/Heartworm Preventative & Dewormer) - Spaying or Neutering - 24-Petwatch Microchip Adoption fee: $135.00 Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2026 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
