Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Cattle dog mix, female Lexi is on our minds! Perfect little (little, 26lbs!), girl heeler. Lexi is about 2 yrs old. She's got some life experience. Just not sure of her old environment. She's rural now and she seems made for this life. Lexi is very good and civil inside. And she's the porch dog if I'm in without her and follows me around on our pack excursions. No leash required, she comes to every dogs name! Both Lexi and her sister Amaya have had pups in the last 4-5 months. They're spayed now, chipped, current on all vaccinations. Ready for her new life. We are here to give her that. I believe she's house broken. I know she's not destructive. They're leaving my boots untouched along with beds, rugs, everything. They have their cow hoofs and they leave my stuff alone! They had to learn the leash here but coming along! Probably should have more practice, we just do not need one here. Lexi if going with the flow, like she's always been here, fits right in. Affectionate, confident, happy little heeler. She's quiet, and very nice to my guests. Lexi is in Templeton, CA More photos, video, and updates: .facebook/.cchdrescue/ search in posts and photo albums. Interested in Lexi? Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
