Description
Dog Breed: French Bulldog (medium coat). Meet Napoleon, the small but mighty Frenchie. Napoleon came to the Shelter as a stray so we donât know much about his life before now. Napoleon is personable and soft one on one with people. He would thrive as the only dog in the home as he does not appreciate sharing space or things with other dogs. Napoleon is still perfecting some life skills and manners like potty training and leash walking. He is learning slow and steady on a harness and making progress. To help making potty training a bit more easy (without the barrier of trying to walk Napoleon on leash), adopters with a fenced in backyard will be the best fit. Napoleon can be exuberant and jumpy/mouthy when he is excited so a home free of young children is recommended. Adopters should redirect any mouthing to toys or appropriate chews. Napoleon is available for pre-adoption. Come meet him, fall in love and take him home after his neuter surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
